Iconic 80’s singer Ibnor Riza Ibrahim breathed his last today at the age of 62, succumbing to the battle against lymphoma cancer at the TunkuMukhriz Chancellor Hospital (HCTM) in Kuala Lumpur.
Known for chart-toppers like ‘Mimpi Yang TakSudah,’ Ibnor Riza’s demise was confirmed by fellow artiste Nizam Din, who took to Facebook to share the heartbreaking news. Nizam, speaking to Bernama, fondly remembered Ibnor as a humble soul cherished by both veteran and contemporary artists, along with a legion of devoted fans.
“I have countless memories with the late Ibnor, spanning from my adolescence to the present. He exuded immense strength, even in the face of various health challenges. Ibnor was generous with his wisdom and shared his earnings generously, endearing him to many.
“May the soul of the late Ibnor Riza be blessed. My condolences to the entire family. Al-Fatihah,” Nizam expressed in his heartfelt tribute.
The singer had recently undergone brain surgery at HCTM on December 2, following the cancer’s aggressive spread. Ibnor Riza’s musical legacy leaves an indelible mark on the Malaysian music scene, and his untimely departure has cast a pall over the industry.
