Rapper Jeezy, known for his hit tracks, has officially filed for divorce from former TV host Jeannie Mai after two and a half years of marriage. The divorce petition was filed on Thursday (Sept. 14) at the Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia. According to reports by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, who initially broke the news, the couple had a prenuptial agreement in place, and Jeezy is seeking joint custody of their one-year-old daughter, Monaco.

The divorce papers state that the couple is presently “genuinely separated” and that their marriage is “beyond repair,” with “no possibility of reconciliation.”Both Jeezy and Mai’s representatives have not yet responded to requests for comments.
The couple’s love story began in 2018 during Mai’s tenure on the TV show “The Real,” although they kept their dating status private initially. In 2019, they publicly confirmed their relationship and announced their engagement in the following year. Due to stringent COVID-19 restrictions, they had to alter their wedding plans, opting for an intimate ceremony at their Georgia home in 2021.
Mai shared their sentiments at the time, explaining, “We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate, but we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.”
In early 2022, the couple welcomed their first child, celebrating the occasion with a heartfelt Instagram post by Mai. They cherished the arrival of “Baby Jenkins.”
While the divorce filing marks the end of their marriage, their journey together and their shared experiences will continue to be cherished by both.
