In exclusive images obtained by The U.S. Sun earlier this month, Kim Mathers, Eminem’s ex-wife, was seen in public for the first time in five years, displaying a new grunge-inspired look while running errands and enjoying pizza with her rarely-seen teenage son.
The 48-year-old, who divorced Marshall Mathers (Eminem) for the second time in 2007, has since welcomed a son, Parker, with an undisclosed partner. These images depict a transformed Kim, who appears healthy and content. She recently shared with The U.S. Sun that she completed a 45-day rehabilitation program following a suicide attempt last year.
The snapshots capture Kim’s visit to a CVS in a strip mall, where she spent almost an hour purchasing essentials, including groceries for the week. She was then spotted at a smoke shop, indulging in a cigarette. Later, Kim placed an order at Domino’s and visited a Subway sandwich shop, eventually returning with their pizza boxes.
For her outing, Kim opted for a relaxed style, donning baggy jeans with dramatic rips, black studded ankle boots, and a black vest top. She completed her look with an MCM black patterned handbag, valued at approximately $400, showcasing her signature grunge-meets-chic fashion sense.
Accompanying her was her son, dressed casually in jeans and a black t-shirt, featuring a black and white photograph of rapper Ice Cube with the lyrics “Today was a good day.”
Kim Mathers has been candid about her mental health struggles, and in July of the previous year, she was rushed to the hospital just a day after her mother Kathy Sluck’s funeral. A 911 call recording obtained by The U.S. Sun revealed one of Kim’s children discovered her “surrounded by blood and pills on her bathroom floor.” Fortunately, her child was able to reach her, although Kim pleaded against involving the police.
This month, Kim shared that she spent time in rehab and has been clean for nearly a year. She also disclosed her use of pills to cope with grief. Although she has faced significant losses in recent years, including her mother, father, and sister, Kim mentioned that her children have been a great source of support.
Kim has four children, including Hailie Jade, 27, whom she shares with Eminem, and adopted daughter Alaina, 30, whose mother, Kim’s sister Dawn, tragically passed away from a drug overdose in 2016 after struggling with addiction for years.
Kim’s relationship with Eminem has been marked by highs and lows. They were high school sweethearts and married in 1999, welcoming their daughter Hailie Jade in 1995. After divorcing in 2001, they renewed their vows in 2006, followed by another separation later that year. Eminem also played a fatherly role in the life of Alaina, Kim’s niece, and adopted Kim’s son Stevie, born in 2002 from her then-boyfriend Eric Hartter.
