Prabhas wax statue to be removed from Mysuru museum

Mysuru, Karnataka – September 26, 2023

In a recent turn of events, a wax statue of actor Prabhas, which was installed at a museum in Mysuru, is set to be removed. The decision comes after Shobhu Yarlagadda, the producer of the iconic movie “Baahubali,” expressed his intent to take legal action against the museum for featuring the unauthorized statue inspired by Prabhas’ character in the film.

Shobhu Yarlagadda took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his concerns, stating, “This [is] not an officially licensed work and was done without our permission or knowledge. We will be taking immediate steps to get this removed.” This announcement triggered a significant backlash from fans on social media platforms.

Bhaskar, the owner of the museum, responded to the controversy, saying, “The producer vented his ire over the statue. As we don’t want to hurt anyone’s sentiments, we will be removing the statue.”

The Mysuru Museum, which has garnered attention for its collection of wax statues, also boasts figures of renowned actors such as Rajinikanth, Dr. Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Shankar Nag, Mr. Bear, Charlie Chaplin, and more.

This decision reflects the importance of respecting intellectual property rights and licensing agreements in the realm of art and entertainment.
