Following the resounding success of “Dream Girl 2,” director Raaj Shaandilyaa is gearing up for an exciting lineup of projects that promise to tickle the funny bones of audiences across India. Among these projects, three stand out, and they are set to feature some of Bollywood’s brightest stars, including Rajkummar Rao, Kartik Aaryan, and Ayushmann Khurrana.
With “Dream Girl 2” achieving the coveted feat of entering the 100 crore club, Raaj Shaandilyaa is eager to leverage his knack for comedy and humor, this time stepping into the shoes of a producer. Reports suggest that he is currently in discussions with Kartik Aaryan and Ayushmann Khurrana for two distinct projects.
During the challenging times brought about by the pandemic, Raaj diligently worked on multiple projects, and now, they are primed to hit the production floor.
The first project on the horizon is an uproarious family comedy starring Kartik Aaryan. Raaj has already presented the complete script, complete with screenplay and dialogues, to Kartik. While the actor has reportedly shown keen interest in the concept, he has not officially committed to the film as yet. If all goes according to plan, production could commence as early as the summer of 2024. It’s worth noting that Kartik Aaryan is currently occupied with “Chandu Champion,” directed by Kabir Khan, and he’s scheduled to jump into “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” and “Aashiqui 3” shortly.
In addition to Kartik Aaryan, Raaj Shaandilyaa is also in talks with his “Dream Girl” star Ayushmann Khurrana. However, this project is set to be directed by one of Raaj’s assistants, and final confirmation is expected after a few more discussions.
Meanwhile, Raaj has already greenlit “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” with Rajkummar Rao and Tipti Dimri, a project that’s primed for production and will grace the silver screen next year. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Bhushan Kumar, this film is bound to add another feather to Raaj Shaandilyaa’s cap.
As the curtains rise on these exciting ventures, fans of Bollywood comedy can eagerly anticipate a slew of uproarious and entertaining films shortly.
