Laylat al Qadr, also known as “the Night of Power or Night of Decree, is one of the holiest nights of Ramadan for Muslims around the world. Worshipping Allah during this night is thought to be better than 83 years of worship and better than a thousand months. Moreover, it is believed that sincere prayer and hope for a reward from Allah on the night of Laylat al Qadr can lead to the forgiveness of a person’s previous sins.
Surah Al Qadr:

Surah “Al-Qadr (97)” in the Quran is devoted to the night, indicating its importance. The Islamic event of Laylat al-Qadr, which is regarded as one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar, takes place during the last ten days of Ramadan.
Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said about Laylat al Qadr:

Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) instructed Muslims to search for Laylat al Qadr during the odd nights of the last 10 days of Ramadan, even though the Quran does not specify the exact night. This guidance is supported by the following Hadith: “Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan (Sahih Bukhari: 2017).”

The Quran revealed in Laylat al Qadr:

It is believed that Laylat al Qadr falls on one of the odd nights of the last 10 days of Ramadan, specifically on the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th night. Among these, the 27th night is considered the most probable. This night holds immense importance as it marks the first revelation of the Holy Quran from heaven.
Prayers and Nawafils for Laylat al Qadr:

Praying during the last ten nights of Ramadan is a Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.). During this time, he engaged himself in devotion more than any other time of the year.

Observing Itikaaf in the mosque during the last 10 days of Ramadan is also a Sunnah, with the main aim of seeking Laylat al Qadr.” According to the current calendar, it is anticipated that Laylat al Qadr in 2023 will be observed on the night of Tuesday, April 18th, 2023.
